It's day 20 of the 30 Day Map Challenge and today's theme is "Water".
Classical Elements 4/4: Focus on the fluid. Map hydrology, oceans, currents, water accessibility, sea level rise, precipitation, or anything aquatic.
For today's theme, I've chosen an open dataset from the Environment Agency - Flood Map for Planning - Flood Zones. This data includes the flood zones data that shows the extent of land at risk of flooding from rivers and sea.

The dataset is large - over 2gb so I converted it to GeoJSON and in turn into a PMTiles file. Whilst it's very detailed there are only 2 layers - flood zones 2 and 3, so I've created a style with shades of blue for each that can be used as an overlay layer in Icon Map Slicer thus allowing other datasets, such as properties, to be overlaid on top.
In the Power BI report, I've used the Ordnance Survey Open Zoomstack Outdoors style, and added 3D terrain and hill shading. The OS style's extruded buildings mean that those properties at risk of flooding are highlighted as they appear surrounded by the flood water.
Here's the Power BI report:
